Understanding

Brielle is really starting to understand words and meanings. She deffinatly knows her name, Keiton, bottle, food, are you hungry, no, daddy, and some times head and eyes. She is figuring out her world and can be found stacking blocks 5 and 6 high, pulling out the bottom and top of a bottle and placing the top on the bottom and then trying to drink it. She often entertains herself and Keiton with games of peekaboo. She will crawl behind a wall or couch and then pop her head out and they both will laugh. She is figuring out how to manipulate her world and get what she wants. One of her taktics is to through tantrums. They are not ushally very effective for her. She has started to take 2-4 step regularly throughout the day. She started to give daddy 5s today. She love Keiton and will off ten bring him a toy and even share her Cheerios. She also teases him and acts like she is giving him a toy and he will reach and try to take it and she will pull it away and laugh. She is our little food begger and even after she has eaten a large meal will come begging to whoever is eating for more.

Keiton is getting stronger all the time and is our little content guy as long as he's rested and fed. We love our worried little man.

family visits

We loved having Grandpa Pete come visit as well as Trevor, Lauren, Bryce, Dallin and Clair. When Grandpa arrived and come in to see the babies they both stared at him like he was from another planet for several minuets. It was really fun. Then however did warm up to him.

We loved having our first full house and can't wait to share the family get togethers at our house with are extra room

While Dad and Trev where here are New to us refrigerator arrived and thanks goodness! With a lot of finagling they were able to help us make it fit. It is the first update of our kitchen.

11 and 7.5 mile stones

Brielle

* walking in between furniture. Has even taken 9 steps into the middle of the room
* Can stand with no assistance not even her hands. She just goes from sitting to standing by rolling up her leg and top of foot.
* Points to what she wants and know exactly what that is.
* throws tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants
* gets jealous of Keiton's attention at time and will push or slap him.
* shares her toys with Keiton especially when he is sand.
* trys to feed herself with bowl and spoon and has even found the top of a bottle and a spoon from the diaper bag and feed Keiton imaginary food right into his mouth.
* shacks her hed yes when she wants something
* can stake blocks one on top of another and has put puzzle pieces in their spot a few times and can drop a play cd disc down a slot into the player.
* continues to love to play with people and other kids especially chase and hide and seek/peak a boo
* is a big helper and can be found wiping the floor with a paper towel or scrubbing the carpet with a spit up rang and even wiping Keiton's chin.
* LOVEs to pull eveything out of drawers and baskets and only puts them back in so she can pull then out again
* pulls out the bottom up a bottle and the top of a bottle and puts the top on the bottom and trys to drink it before the top falls off

* He has become mobile and can really get places by rolling back and forth and scutting backwards on his tummy. He has pushed himself into some pretty tight corners. But over all his happy to be mobile.
* he is loving soiled and its a good thing because I think I'm producing less
* he continues to drowl like crazy
* he explores new territory by scratching at all new serfaces
* he like to flap his arms and slap the floor,books,doors,ect.
* he loves faces and is often reaching to touch anyone's face how is holding him.
* is getting much better hand controlle and can reach and grab anything he wants in a fair radiance around him.
* can easily go from a sitting position to his tummy
* does full plank and is starting to pull his knees up a little.
* says mamama and dadad and bababa
* He also recognizes his name

Happy New Year

During the Christmas Holiday we did our first update in our new home. We had one closet to share between the two of us in our master bedroom and then there were things under the bed in another chest of drawers and shoes hanging and banging behind the door that drove Dave crazy. So after a lot of thinking and reasearch I came up with a new design for our closet to maximize the space. We now get like 3x the amount of stuff in our shared closet. We are loving it.

First Christmas

2011 has been a busy year for us. We have been blessed beyond measure and are so very grateful for all the love and support we have received from our family and friends.

Here are some of the highlights from this past year.

February 2011:

We adopted a beautiful little girl. Brielle Mira Karlsven was born on February 14^th. We were so excited for her to come into our family. Tawni (Brielle’s birth mom) wanted us to be at the hospital with her and it was an amazing experience for us to be there for the birth.

May 2011:

Our son, Keiton Isaac Karlsven, was born on May 26^th. Brigette almost had to give birth in the car as we were stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the hospital. Dave ran into the hospital with Brielle in his arms and asked the security guard to hold the baby while he went out to get his wife who was having another baby. The security guard looked pretty confused by the whole situation, but there was no time to explain things as Keiton was born in less than a half hour from the time we reached the hospital.

July 2011:

Dave got a new job in Salt Lake City. He works for RUMOR, an advertising agency that does lots of website design work. Dave is a website developer and specializes in building eCommerce websites for RUMOR’s clients. He really enjoys his work and is learning so much every day.

Dave was also able to give his first baby blessing to Keiton this month. It was great to have so many family members in town that could be a part of the blessing.

August 2011:

We had been looking forward to this month since Brielle was born. The State of Utah has a 6 month waiting period before we could legally adopt Brielle and therefore we had to wait 6 months to bless her and be sealed to her.

Finally the day came that we were able to go to the courts to finalize the adoption and then we were off to the Temple for the sealing. Both babies were pretty hungry by the time everyone was in the sealing room, but even though there was some crying going on, it was a wonderful experience for us to have Brielle sealed to us for eternity.

Keiton also wanted some attention at the temple so he decided to spit up all over the sealing room carpet.

October 2011:

The only bad thing about Dave’s new job was that it took over an hour, sometimes up to 2 hours in bad traffic, for Dave to get to work in the morning and then another 2 hours to get home at night. Dave was leaving for work early in the morning before Brielle and Keiton woke up and then coming home in the late evening just as they were being put to bed. That was tough for everyone. So we decided to start looking for places to live closer to Salt Lake.

We have always liked the Bountiful / Centerville / Farmington areas just north of Salt Lake.

We looked at a lot of homes, but were frustrated when some of the ones we really liked were sold to other buyers. Finally we found a home in Bountiful that had the layout we had really hoped to find. It even had a nice deck with a view and a partial view of the Bountiful Temple out the master bedroom window if you stood in the right place to look past the neighbor’s big tree.

We put an offer on the home and hoped everything would work out.

Nov. 2011

We bought our first home. We were so excited to finally be moving into our first home. It was a huge chore to pack all of our stuff, (We have way too much junk, some of which was still in boxes from our last move.)

We spent a lot of our Thanksgiving holiday packing up a huge trailer with the much appreciated help of family and friends.

We will miss our ward in Woodland Hills. We met so many amazing people there and developed a lot of good friendships. We hope our new ward is even half as good as this one we left.

Brigette is excited about all the projects she can now do on the home. She wants to update the kitchen and Dave wants to make the deck nice for some spring BBQ’s.

Dec. 2011

We had a huge wind storm hit Bountiful and Centerville the week after we moved in. Hundreds of big pine trees were blown down all throughout the city. We were very lucky that the big pine tree in our front yard did not blow over onto our house. Brigette watched out the window as the roots of the tree kept lifting up the concrete slabs of our sidewalk and driveway.

We were without power for a couple days because our neighbor’s tree fell onto a power line along with many other trees around the city. Overall the city estimates that over 1000 trees were knocked down in the storm.

It was sad to drive around the city and parks and see all the massive trees, which had been growing for so many years, now blown over. All the wards in our area cancelled Church so that the members could help with the cleanup. Even President Eyring, who lives just a few blocks from us, was out helping clean up the mess.

Though we were lucky and didn’t lose our tree, we did lose our back fence. The wood posts were snapped right off at the base by wind gusts clocked at over 100 mph.

Our garbage cans blew through our neighbor’s fence. It was not a pretty sight because our 2 babies tend to fill up the garbage can with dirty diapers, so I spent some time going around the neighborhood picking up the scattered diapers.

However, there was a good thing that came out of the wind storm that we are really excited about. Later that night when we were going to bed, Dave looked out of our Master Bedroom window and was taken away by a magnificent sight. That big tree that was blocking our view is now gone and we have a fantastic full window view of the Mountains and Temple.

We feel so blessed. It has been a busy, but wonderful year for our family.

9 Months

So I know we are about to 10 months but most of what I will share she has been doing sense 9 months.

obsessed with buttons, the electronic kind (all though she also really likes the ones on your clothes as well) that turn iphones on and off. She hold it down long enough for the voice control and then often accidentally starts calling someone or face timing someone. One time Dave was holding her while I was showing him something on the computer and all the sudden the screen goes black. yup you guessed it. She also is very precise with pressing the enumerable buttons that make music, tell her colors, shapes, and numbers, and other noises on her toys.

Brielle has become aware of her tough and is often found striking out especially when she is concentrating pulling all of the wipes out of there container.

She is in the phase of take everything out of baskets and drawers. Her favorite is the diaper drawer.

She loves to while standing turn and let gravity propel her to the ground and then shes off and crawling as fast as she can.

She can't get enough of walking with your fingers or with some kind of walker but hasn't dared go out on her own.

She is scared of stairs which is kind of a blessing. She will crawl up the bottom step and then sit there and cry like she is hurt until you come rescue her.

We use to be worried about her verbal development but know you know she's getting into something she's not suppose to when all you here is silence because usually she has an on going babble.

She is still an avid fan of all things food and anytime someone comes into her site with food she is off to their side to beg for some.

she love to point at things especially pictures in books while she turns the pages and babbles as if she is reading it.

can drink out of little cups all by herself.

10 months

She still find lots of humor around her and continues to love chase. She also plays Peek a boo and will even grab a blanket and but it over her head wait and then pop out from under it.

Our latest favorite development is her musicality. The girl loves to dance and in any position. She goes side to side and up and down and waves her arms and shacks her head. So fun to watch. She's got the beat. Her style preference spans the spectrum from jammn Christmas music to the classics of her baby Einstein toy, to nursery songs and church hymns. They all get here little body movin.

Much much better with tummy time and can fully push himself up to straight arms and starting to bring legs under him a little especially if I set him down on his knees.

laughing. One time brielle was wanting me to play chase with her and Keiton was just smiling and laughing at her.

This is Brielle and her cousin Scotland and they had the most fun any two 8 months old could have. Playing tough of war over toys and playing chase. They really played togeather and not just side by side. We hope you comes and lives in Utah in a few years :)

I can't wait until these two little ones can play togeather. Brielle often goes up to Keiton and pats him on the head or gives him kisses and loves as if she is begging him to come play. Keiton is really watching her now and smiling and talking to her so it won't be long.However he first needs to learn to crawl and he is now were close to doing that yet. :{

6 months

It's amazing Brielle has been part of our family a whole 6 months. Now she is legally ours.
What she's up to.

*sitting by herself while playing with toys also on unstable surfaces like a grassy slop, bed, or couch

* crawling on hands and knees as well as feet and hands. In dance we call it the elephant walk. She loves to do up dog. When she is left in a room alone she will leave and come looking for us. She gets to anything she wants in a room.

* eating solids and loving it. Meat is not her favorite! She gives her mist funny faces while eating it. She also seems to have now problem with a little more textured foods. She can drink out of a cup and a sippy. She is very interested in everything we are eating and strains to get her hands on it.

* she loves to laugh expeshally when a perticular line from tangled is quoted by her cousins or when children jump. She also gets slap happy when she is tired and you can get her belly laughing.

* very social and will almost always give anyone a big smile. She has however had moments of extrem stranger anxiety. She defiantly knows who mom is and wants her most of the time if she can see her.

* she can do a pincher grasp and can pick up some things off the floor. Time to start vacing at least daily. She also is loving hair and will wrap her little arms around your neck and grab your hair

* she is so loving and cuddly now giving bug intense hugs and kisses. On account of this change she has also started nursing and takes very few bottles now.

* she loves anything big and can often be calmed down by standing her up. She has even pulled herself up to standing twice at the couch. She also can go from a crawling position to a complete sit. She still often hangs out in a mermaid sit.

* also just in the last week she has decided to become more vocal. We were worried how quite she was but I think we are not going to experience that for much longer.

So after reading Kjirsti's "I am a writer" I am declaring myself as "a creator". A creator of all kinds. I'm not just a sewer or paper crafter or woodworker, or choreographer, or designer ect. I love to dabble in it all. These kinds of projects are what fill my head in the middle of the night. Almost every time I go to a store. I thrive on creating something new. My problem is finding the balance of all the other things I should be doing and doing more for others. Life is full of finding the balance. The balance that daily, weekly, and yearly changes. The lord says lose your self in my service and you shall find yourself. I too often seek to find myself through creating one more thing and then another. I need to extend myself more to others and find how I can help build the kingdom of God.

Hey everyone

Mom and I were talking and she would like to specify dark jeans. So bring the darkest jeans your family members have. We would like to stick to a medium to dark shade. But we don't want this to be a burden just bring what you have.Also I wanted to through out the idea of having the pictures taken at the old barn on our property.

In the past Kjirsti and Trevor have taken the picture with a tripod and timer. This might be a little challenging this year with both of them having a new little baby. It also might be nice to have another set of eyes who stays behind the camera to make sure everyone is looking ect.

I have a lady that just took our family photo and is really cheap. I think she would do it for about $50 with all the rights to the photos. From what I have seen I'm really happy with how our family photo turned out. I am wondering if we want to take this option.

I know it will be a big hassle getting to my place so you'll have to decide if it's worth it. I'm sending an idea of the location. I feel like it has some nice potential for natural depth variation and interest. It my be a little busy? what do you think.

Let me know your thoughts so I can schedule with the photographer.

Mothers Day

On account of having the most amazing mother. From the time I was little. I wanted to be a mom when I grew up. I didn't really have a list of other accomplishments that I wanted to achieve first. On account of this for the past 6 years mothers day has been a big deal. After sobbing uncontrollably through one Sacrament meeting on Mothers Day, I opted not to put myself through the pain the following couple of years. I cried in the privacy of my home instead of making a scene at church.

This year was the first year I was able to thoroughly enjoy the wonderful holiday. Dave was so wonderful and took care of Brielle during the night before. Then Brielle and Dave made me breakfast and this is the two of them making me my first mothers Day card. Brielle did a beautiful scribble drawing for me and Dave helped her sign her name.

I wish more then anything those other women out there who are struggling to have children may be blessed very soon. I feel their heart ache and want it to be healed.

Brielle is so very special. If we had to go through this trial to be able to have her as part of our family. It was all worth it.

Month away

I can't believe I am know officially less then a month away from my due date. I am considered full term. He could come any day and most likely have no health issues. I love the idea of having a small baby. Giving birth to a 6.5 lbs baby has got to be easier then an 8.5 lbs baby :). But at the same time Keiton is so much easier to take care of inside me that he can just hang out as long as he wants. I wish I had a great picture to add but I am having issues getting pictures off my camera once I do. I will had a photo or two.

PS I am trying to learn the AV function on my camera and had left the settings on when Dave picked up the camera to take these shots. I obviously haven't figured out that setting yet :(

I know it doesn't look very big. But I feel huge some day with the balloting I feel like a hot air balloon that is being filled with too much air. I feel so blessed to be in my crazy predicament and we are excited for out little twins (adopted Brielle and this little one) They will be about 3.5 months apart and we are trying to get ready for the craziness to begin. I have been nausea but nothing like so many I know and so I feel very blessed in this area as well. Now that I'm in my second trimester I'm even feeling a little better. I was so worried I'd be sick right up to Brielle coming and have no time to get ready. But I'm having longer and longer stretches of feeling good or ok between feeling like throwing up. Hooray!

I asked for Daves time for my Birthday present to help me build this table. It was a frustrating project because we didn't have the ideal tools and neither of us know what we are doing. None the less I think it will turn out wonderful and memorable. Sorry I didn't take many pictures along the way. This is where we are at right now.

Just for fun here is a weeks bounty from our garden. I hadn't picked anything in a while.

There are at least 4 different kinds of tomatoes couple different peppers, wax yellow green beans, cucumber, yellow squash, and zucchini and 2 baby potatoes. We also have onions and Garlic, oregano and basil that I used to make a big pot of fresh spaghetti sauce.

We have 6 strands of barbed wire up and we still need a line on the existing fence and then mesh up to 7 feet to keep out the deer. We shall see if it works. We definitely worked hard. I hope we can get everything to grown well. The soil has some clay and we have to figure out how to get a good drip system so are water bill isn't sky high.

So this is the best I could do. Dave is out of town until late and I'll probably be in bed when he gets home. I know it will take a little time for me to master doing this due. I plan on getting it high lighted soon with some highs and lows but would love any suggestions. should I totally change it up and go dark like Alice in the bottom picture. Dave helped me put up a Ikea room divider line that we hung a curtain from in our basement to divide the family room/guest bedroom from my craft room. It's not perfect but It's a little better and it keeps people from looking into my mess.

Time is a wonderful thing. Especially when you have control over it. My 149 costumes are done and the show is over and I am so excited to have my life back. I even have Monday of to boot. You may see a few more blog entries. I'm wanting to start up my creating a creator blog again and already have a project nearly done. So you'll have to swing by their now and then and see what I've been creating.

Our latest is we are LOOKing into adoption. We shall keep you posted.

I love a good handyman

One of Dave's mission companions is a handyman here in Utah county. We hired him to come put in our new dishwasher. Dave tells me everyday how much he loves it. Here is him loading our very first batch of dishes in out very first dishwasher. Oh the Joy! We then had him help us with a few other things. He temporarily fixed our hall coat closet door. He hung some old cabinets that had been sitting in out laundry room above our washer and dryer. He mounted My living room shelf and helped Dave install my Christmas present shower head. Dave is not a handyman but I love him anyways.

I'm not sure if I'm going to like the winter here. I'm glad that we are down on the flat because every yard you go up the mt the more snow you get. We have enjoyed our fire place and are trying to figure out how to maximize the heat we can get out of it. We haven't tried the chain saw yet but we have been getting advice on where to go and what kind of wood ect. I guess some wood burns a lot hotter then others. I know I'm going to need to stock up on a whole lot more hot chocolate. I need to find some way to make it healthier. Any suggestions. I found a recipe for homemade cocoa mix i'm going to try. That will be a lot cheaper.

Saturday doings

We worked our little hearts out and Dave was pretty sore the next day. I had no clue how expensive and difficult putting in a fence is. I have wanted a path to my font door so people don't go to the back door the enters in right next to my kitchen sink. When I started digging this is what I found. I'm sure it was the original path. We are going to pull up all the brick flatten out the base add some peat gravel and put them back in. We also spent and hour gathering up black gold. Well hopefully it will turn into that. I wish the cows where in more of a contained area so it would be easier to gather their poo.

first fire

We started our first fire. If we want to have many of these this winter we have our work cut out for us collecting allready seasoned wood. Our fire place has a blower so it blowes the hot air out at us. We didn't run it long enough to see how long it would take to heat the upstairs but it was nice in the front room. We have a lot of older couples in our ward that their kids have all moved out and they are called the empty nesters. Today I felt like one of those empty nesters. We have had so much family around this summer that going home to an empty house It was a little melancholy today. We finally have most all our stuff here. There are a few things left at Daves parents the we will slowly bring up.

The move was lots of work and we are still tired from it.

We finally have our own washer and Dryer which I am very excited about.

The word was very friendly and we had tons of people introducing themselves and welcoming us to the word. It definitely is an older more established ward but their are a few younger couple and at least one younger couple without kids.

We love the few and the extra room but the weather, soil, and animals i'm sure will prove to be some points of frustration for me.

All is well and we are slowly unpacking and trying to get settled in.

I meant to send this out to everyone and even had Easter cards all made up. But things got to busy so here it is and hopefully you'll get your adorable card and my next yearly update next Easter.

Dear Friends and Family,

Most people send out cards to keep in touch at Christmas, we have decided to send such a card at Easter. This will make Christmas less stressful for us and spread out the joy of receiving mail for you.

This year has brought a lot of learning for Dave and I. Both of us are building business. My business idea originated, in college, but I was too busy, so I let it sit. After graduation Dave and I enjoyed watching the show BIG IDEA. It inspired me to pick my idea up and run with it. We launched my product last summer and have done a few craft boutique shows that have been very successful as well as a TV show in Arizona that went extremely well. This summer I’m hoping to really grow the business. I hope this crazy economy doesn’t hold me back to much.
The rest of my time I spend teaching dance, which I love, and doing my other hobbies. I have been doing a lot of cooking and have fallen in love with homemade freezer meals and plan on building them to create my short term food storage. These have made our meal times so much smoother. I’ve spend a lot of time thinking and planning my flower beds and pots. We shall see if they turn out as magnificent as I envisioned.

Dave spends most of his day sitting in front of a computer. He is designing and developing a software management system for small business. I have loved his help building my business and couldn’t have done it without him. To help speed the process of programming his system he has hired 2 private programming tutors. He is quickly learning a little of the complex confusing language of PHP. Dave has high hopes for his business even in this crazy economy. He hopes to start marketing his product this summer/fall time. He also has committed to finish his college degree by 2010. I am very excited about this.
In Dave’s free time he loves spending time with his family especially his niece and nephew. We both anxiously await the day we will have our own little one. Until then we are trying to develop patience.

I love spring so much. I enjoy watching things grow and come back to life after a long winter. I watch my little planted seeds begin to search and reach for the light. I can’t help but think of my Savior and the wonderful gifts of the Atonement and Resurrection. I desire to try more diligently to continually seek the light like my little plants. To bend my life in a way that draws me closer to HIM. I want to nourish my little growing seeds of faith, hope and charity with diligent prayer, scripture study, temple attendance and service. I know the blessing of true joy and happiness will come even in times of challenge and frustration.
I know my Savior lives. That on that glorious 3rd day he arose and conquered death. I know that he took upon himself my sins. That through his pain, and his gospel, I can repent and come unto him, and together we can all live forever. What joy should fill our souls to posses such treasures of knowledge.

We love you all and know the importance of keeping relationships alive and want to do our part. Thank you all for the impact and influence you have been in our lives. You are all very special people and we would love to keep in contact.

Dave and I enjoyed a wonderful day skiing and then went out to dinner at a buffet, that had a wide variety of food. Here are list of some of the new things I tried.

Accomplishing something

I'm in that pathetic mode were I fell like I'm accomplishing nothing of value in my life and wasting away my probation. I know I'm not and I know Satan is just getting in my head. So here are a few of the things I have accomplished.

I have been doing a lot of thinking a planning about my food storage and creating goals. by 2010 I'd like to have 3 months supply of ready made meals and a years supply of grains and beans and their complementary ingredients along with the tools and skills to make them into edible meals. I'd like to fine tune my bread, biscuit, dried beans skills.

I'm also hoping to reach our baby fund goal by my birthday so we can start saving for a down payment on a home and a trip to Italy next summer.

I created three beautiful dances that the girls loved and seemed to be enjoyed by the audience. And I hope that I turned a few more thoughts to the Savior as one piece was all about him. I was so grateful for the loving support of my family who came. I put a lot of work into these dances and it was nice to share it with people I love. Thank you Sabina, Brecklyn, and Talia for making the trip down and the sugar cookie kit I'm way excited to use it. Thanks to my Mother and Father in Law for coming and bringing me gorgeous roses and my sister in law Becky and for Dave. It meant a lot to have you their.

I have also been working on my garden and have seeds growing on my kitchen table I hope I can keep them growing until after the last frost. The weather has been so great here.

This is not Dave

Through out our lives we need to keep up activities that revert us back to when we were little. Dave and I have done several activities like that lately. Well they where ones that brought the youth out of Dave. We went to a world cup mogul skiing competition and Dave was so excited and had his adrenalin going and wishing he was the one up at the top waiting for the go to race down the mountain.

Then for Valentines day we went to the ski resort that Dave learned to ski at. He proceeded to show me all of the memorable runs, rumps, cliffs and secret stashes of powder. It snowed the whole time we where their creating challenging white out conditions where you can see no depth, never knowing how steep things where and where the bumps are situated. The snow created continual fresh powder the made for Dave's favorite kind of skiing. It sprays up around you and watching in fly down from above him all I could see where his head and shoulders and the rest hidden my the spraying snow. He was in Heaven.

It was fun but very challenging to me their was a time when I was thigh deep in snow and had a hard time getting out.

Life is never as it seems or seemed

It's amazing how we all seem to envision the was life will be and it never turns out that way or at least my life hasn't. I did a pretty good job envisioning my life up until graduation from collage and even that had plenty of twists and then my foresight powers died. I feel like not one aspect of my life is the way I thought it would be. But something was said in sacrament meeting that really hit me and is helping for the time being. The speaker had a brother that was on a mission and everything back home was falling apart things where braking arms legs, cars dishwasher ect. the family was struggling to understand why they where not receiving the blessing that are suppose to come as you support a son on a mission. The missionary turned to the Lord and the answer was these are your blessings.

I am truly blessed in a multitude of ways and I'm sure that the course my life is taking is for the best and i just need to choose to seek the positive. I'm working on making the most of this time I have been given. I'm searching out what will bring feelings of fulfilled and purpose and seeking out what the Lord wants me to do with this time.

I'm starting out the new year on a new foot and I have been pretty good at working out and actually getting ready and doing something with my hair and face in the morning. I think it's helping. I've also been better at really getting into my scriptures and thinking and trying to internalize them. Life is good.

I hoped to get married in the temple
I hoped to find someone that I could cherish for eternity

Much of what I have hoped for has come to pass and those things which I hope for now will someday too come to pass.

I hope someday to find the magic of choosing to be happy and finding the positive in life everyday.

I hope to be able to then bring happiness and joy to others lives even in the simplest things.

The gospel always teaches us to constantly give thanks. As I sit here listening to the couple that lives below us yell at each other and the husband scream with what sounds like hate in his voice, I am profoundly grateful for a husband who has NEVER yelled at me. Yes we get into arguments and don't always understand each other. I did a lot of crying our first year trying to figure out the whole married thing. Now things are great and through all of our frustrating times and times that sometime feel like challenges, and all of our differences in opinion Dave as never Yelled at me or really even Raised his voice. I wish I could say the same for me, but, to day the least I am sooo grateful for his patience and the natural calming effect he has on me. I married a wonderful man that I miss immensely when he is gone.

I had a fabulous time and can't wait to find more excuses to go down their. It was very hot but everything else was great. I had fun playing dolls with Ryanna and hearing her play her violin and I loved playing ball with Owen and let him read Ka choo to me. He is talking so much and you can't help but smile none stop with him around. I went down to be on TV but I'll have to get some help to do that justice. Audrey is a perfect host and Derek was fun to talk to but my favorite was sleeping with Ryanna in her big bed. She's a cuddlier. :)

I'm a Widow

It's again the month of September and that means becoming a widow for a month. Dave is off hiking the mountains of the wild wild west. Last year for his birthday I promised him I'd go hunting and I had my fist taste last weekend. I got up at 5 am to the call of the wild. I layered like crazy and wrapped myself in two blankets then ventured out to hear the amazing bugle of elk. I did hear some but nothing to brag about. The evening hunt I bailed out on, and guess what happened. It was one of those magical times with elk bugling all over responding to Dave's realistic call. Then they started coming to the call. Those that were with him bragged about his bugling talent. Who Knew! He was sad that I hadn't been their to witness it with him. Maybe next time :(

So Yesterday I pretty much gutted my flower bed and today I'm paying for it. I thought my back would be the sorest but it is definitely my hamstrings. Like I posted earlier for my birthday we kind of did some planning and drawing out of my flower beads. I also bought those plant's on my birthday and still had not planted them. They were starting to struggle and I hope they make it. Anyway I'm not accustom to doing that much manual labor and I'm not sure my body liked it. I got all but One of my shrubs planted. I found some large pots at Wal-mart for 1.75 and so I planted them all in beds to that it will be easier to move them around and take them with me when we move.My poor bed looks empty know and I'm not sure I'll be able to restrain myself from getting a few of the perennials that I want in their for next year like my black eyed susans. I may order some lily's to plant to. I also pulled out a lot of my daffodils and tulips to replant in a more strategic place. I'm determined to have a gorgeous bed next year. I said that about this year and it was truly disastrous. I really need to figure out a better watering system. I also have found some more good information on growing plants from seed and will try my luck at that again this winter. My tomato s have done well along with my lavender and portulaca. I think I'm going to try a few more veggies next year and still to annuals for flowers. we'll see. I'm going to get a shop light and not do the pellet this this winter.

Well I'm older! Life likes to through us all curve balls and my life has curved in a direction I never expected at this stage in m life. But i'm not complaining. There are many wonderful things about where I'm at and i'm trying to make the most of.

I had a wonderful birthday. Thanks everyone for the calls and texts I definitely felt remembered. My mom was in town for a wedding and so I got to spend the day with her and My sister Sabina. We planned out my flower garden then when and got some Thia food. After we went window plant shopping and Sabina and I both ended up buying 7 shrubs. We found a killer deal and couldn't pass it up. We ended are afternoon outing with Gelato. Sense Europe I can't get enough of it. That evening We had chicken tortilla soup and Breacklyn and made me Mile High Strawberry Pie, which is one of my favorites and she'd remember and made it without even telling me. it was amazing. Children are so great as making life special.

I went to the most inspiring patriotic service that I have ever been to. It was so fabulous and moved me to tears and to swell up with pride for my country and all it has done for the world and it's people. Glen Beck was the main speaker with songs and tributes from Micheal Ballam. We the people have done amazing things and have shaped the world today with the guidance of the Lord. America and especially the United Stated is a special place blessed by the Lord for his work. I am so gratefull to be apart of such a glorious nation and want to do my part in changing it's future for the better. I love you all and love the freedoms we share.

Starting a business

I don't know if starting a business is worth it. You'll have to ask me again in a month and then a month from that and so on. I just can't belive what an emotional rollercoaster starting a business is. You finally fell like you've figured thing out and a litte bit of new information changes your whole perspective and therfor changes your plans. Sabina laphes every time a call her because I have a new stroy to tell about where things are at in my business. I can say that it is a great way to keep yourself distracted. I decided I needed to stop waiting for life to happen to me and take life by the horns and guide myself. I can't just sit around mooping that I haven't been give what a want yet.(baby, house) For the moment I am being my own manufacturer and will start selling and distributing product by the end of May. So here in a couple of week you all need to help me sell like crazy and for your efforts you'll all recive free product. Everyone love free stuff that they acctually want. I'd also love help with some managerial tasks if anyone is interested.

Joy of spring

Growing up I was never much into my mother flower garden. I loved the look of them but was never that into the layout, weeding, transplanting and the like. Now with my own little plot I have become obsesive about my beds. I have come to feel that your house doesn't really become a home until you have flower beds with bright colored flowers to welcome all visitors and bring joy to all that walk by. I tend to tell Dave over and over everytime we walk into the house how much I love my flowers. The Lord hasn't felt like the time is right for Dave and I to have children yet, but I was feeling under uppriciated and useless. I needed something to take care of and look after. My problem was solved when I started my own indoor green house. I've planted about 72X4 plants ranging from sun flowers to cucombers and tomatos. I've very excited about them and anxious to put them in the ground. I will have to take some pictures and add them to my blog as well. This Spring brought a lot of joy after a long winter and contemplation about the resurection and joy that will come with our resurected perfect body, and new life. I can't wait to have a perfect body and be on a path to have all knowledge. There is so much to learn in the universe. I cant wait to be able to through aside a job that just pays the bills to one of joy, learning and eternail consiquence.

This is my third season skiing and I really enjoy it. I'm a litte competitive like I am with everthing and get frustrated when I'm not improving fast enough. I'm not very good at keeping my legs togeather when I turn and definitely not in the moguls. I went down the olympic mogul run but I pretty much just stayed on the side where the moguls where almost non-existant. I really enjoy skiing with Dave and his family. I think he's way amazing which he is but we watched a world cup skier do the olympic mogul run and there was no comparing Dave to this guy he was increadable. I've never seen anything like it. I'm excited for Dave to teach out kids how to ski and then going as a family.
